The Dublin University by-election of January 1875 was fought on 18–22 January 1875. The byelection was fought due to the resignation (Lord Chancellor of Ireland) of the incumbent Conservative MP, John Thomas Ball. It was won by the Conservative candidate Edward Gibson.[1]
