Ulysses Simpson Grant "Lil" Stoner (February 28, 1899 – June 26, 1966) born in Bowie, Texas, was a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers (1922 and 1924–1929), Pittsburgh Pirates (1930) and Philadelphia Phillies (1931).[1]

He was an avid grower of irises and was an accredited Judge of the American Iris Society.[2]

He died in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 67.
