Cabela's Trophy Bucks is a hunting simulation video game, in which a player can track and stalk a variety of trophy deer over 24 states and provinces across North America. Species includes whitetail, Rocky Mountain mule deer, sitka, desert mule deer, Columbian black tail and many others.[1]

The game was published by Activision Value in conjunction with hunting supply company Cabela's.

Locations

The player traverses through a preset series of locations across North America. Once the player completes all challenges for a location, they will be brought back to the main menu. By continuing the career, they will automatically be sent to the next area. The player starts in Alberta. The locations that follow are: Alaska, Washington, Yukon, Texas, Arizona, Northern Mexico (likely Sonora), New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina, Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and South Dakota. The player ends the game in Illinois.

Locations are fairly generic but each differ from the last.

Alberta, Alaska, Yukon, Texas, Arizona, Sonora, Michigan, and South Dakota have appeared in the Cabela's Big Game Hunter series before. All other locations are new to this installment. Cabela's Deer Hunt: 2004 Season and Cabela's Deer Hunt: 2005 Season have featured locations such as Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, Minnesota, and Nebraska.

Game Mammals

The player can bag a variety of deer, elk, and moose, and pronghorn, as well duck, ptarmigans, foxes, marmots, and turkeys. The player has a dog that helps them hunt by tracking and scaring prey into the player's crosshairs.
