Lisa Folawiyo
Lisa Folawiyo is a Nigerian fashion designer who is best known for incorporating traditional West African textiles with modern tailoring techniques with an emphasis on beading and sequin trim.[1]
Biography
Lisa Folawiyo has a background in law, which she studied at the University of Lagos.[2][3][4][5][3]
Lisa Folawiyo started her label "Jewel by Lisa" in 2005 from her home.[6]
Fashion activities
Lisa Folawiyo has showrooms in Nigeria as well as New York. Celebrities such as Issa Rae have worn her pieces. Rae[who?] wore a cummerbund dress to the BET Presents the American Black Film Festival Honors.[7] Her collections are also showcased in the US, the UK, Nigeria and South Africa.[8][9] In 2012 she was featured in Vogue Italia[citation needed].

Personal life
Folawiyo had been married for 14 years. She is a mother of two children. Her father-in-law was the industrialist Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo.[2] [11]
