Jan Michael Sprenger (born 26 November 1982) is a German chess grandmaster and philosopher.

Chess career

Born in 1982, Sprenger earned his international master title in 2001 and his grandmaster title in 2018.[1] He is the No. 47 ranked German player as of April 2018.[2]

Academic career

Sprenger holds a PhD in philosophy,[3] and was appointed professor of philosophy at Tilburg University in 2008. In 2017, he became professor of philosophy at the University of Turin.[4]
