John Thomas Tarrant is the tenth and current bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of South Dakota in The Episcopal Church.

Tarrant was born in Kansas City, Missouri. After studies at Virginia Theological Seminary, he was ordained to the diaconate on June 11, 1983 and to the priesthood on February 11, 1984. He was consecrated as a bishop on October 31, 2009.

John has 3 grandkids and a son and is 64 years old.
