Hylaeus modestus, known generally as the modest masked bee or yellow-faced bee, is a species of hymenopteran in the family Colletidae. It is found in North America.[1][2][3]

These two subspecies belong to the species Hylaeus modestus:

  • Hylaeus modestus citrinifrons (lemon-fronted masked bee)
  • Hylaeus modestus modestus (eastern modest masked bee)
