Bagata people
Appearance
The Bagata are a designated Scheduled Tribe in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.[1]
The Bagata mainly speak the Bagata language, written in the Bagata script, but they also speak Telugu and Oriya. The latter is mostly in a dialect known as Adivasi Oriya.
The Bagata are primarily Hindus.
In 1976 the Bagata had the highest rate of indebtedness of any of the scheduled tribes of Andhra Pradesh.[2]
