Gilberto Pérez Valentín is a Puerto Rican politician and the current mayor of Maricao. Pérez is affiliated with the New Progressive Party (PNP) and has served as mayor since 1993.[1][2] He has a Bachelor in Economics from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.

After winning the 1992 elections, Pérez has been reelected six times (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016).[3]
