Anjali Pawar is president of NGO Sakhee, located in Pune, Maharashtra, which works in the field of child protection issues.[1] She has busted the case of Preet Mandir adoption scandal.[2][clarification needed] She has helped Haynes to find her parents.[3][clarification needed] She has filed a petition in supreme court to stop inter county adoption until a new law is in place.[4] The petition has sought a detailed investigation into the procurement of children through extortion, blackmail, threats and through bribery of government officials.[5]
