The Thunderbirds form up into the Delta.

Delta Formation is a formation flying maneuvre in the shape of a V. It is used by the United States Air Force's Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds. It is a famous formation of the Thunderbirds[1] and is usually performed at the end of the show, when all the six aircraft come together.

Advantages

Like birds, the delta formation uses the wingtip vortices created by the airplanes in the front to add an additional lift to the airplane spending less energy in the flight.[citation needed]
