Komprachcice [kɔmpraxˈt͡ɕit͡sɛ] (Silesian: Kůmprachćicy, German: Comprachtschütz, Gumpertsdorf) is a village in Opole County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Komprachcice.[1] It lies approximately 9 km (6 mi) south-west of the regional capital Opole.

Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see Territorial changes of Poland after World War II).

The village has a population of 2,900.

Notable people

Bascha Mika (born 1954) is a German journalist and publicist who was born in the town.
