Born in 1967, Irishman Tommy Ryan is a former Gaelic footballer. He was a member of Donegal's 1992 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning team.

Ryan was Donegal's top scorer in the 1992 Ulster Championship.[1] He made his championship debut against Armagh in 1988 and won two Trench Cups with Sligo.[clarification needed] He won an Ulster Minor Championship in 1985, an Ulster and All-Ireland Medal with the U-21s in 1987, and a Senior Ulster and an All-Ireland Championship Medal in 1992. He did not play in the final but was part of the starting line-up for the semi-final defeat of Mayo at Croke Park on 16 August 1992.[2]

Born in Termon, Donegal, he still lives there today. He attended St Eunan's College.[3] After retiring as a player, he remained active in Gaelic games, managing Termon to their second-ever county final in the process.[4][5] He, alongside Tony Boyle, was part of John Joe Doherty's backroom team when Doherty managed Donegal.[4]

Ryan was an agent for Etic Solutions,[6] said to have "operated in a fraudulent manner akin to a Ponzi scheme",[7] although it was never suggested that Ryan had acted dishonestly. In 2011, he was fined for not having a license for his public house.[8] In 2014 Ryan was disqualified from driving for four years for refusing to provide a breath test when his car was stopped by the police.[9][10]
