Planet Ice is the name of a chain of ice arenas in the United Kingdom.

Arenas

There are currently thirteen Planet Ice Arenas in operation within the UK:

Former Arenas

Planet Ice Birmingham closed in 2003 following a fire. The building was reopened in late 2009 by a subsidiary company of Arena Group under the name of Leisurebox. This venture was unsuccessful and the rink closed again in May 2014.

Planet Ice Isle of Wight was bought by Ryde Arena Ltd and is no longer a Planet Ice Arena.

Future

Heath Rhodes, the Chief Operations Officer, advised on 8 May 2019, that Planet Ice would be reviewing its future relationship with all EIHL teams operating from its buildings because the Milton Keynes consortium licence was rejected for the EIHL 2019/2020 season. An official statement on Planet Ice decision will be provided after 5pm, Friday May 10 2019.[1]
