Chester Raymond Nichols Sr. (July 3, 1897 – July 11, 1982), was a professional baseball player who played pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1926-1932 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Phillies.

He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and died in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

His son, Chet (1931-1995) pitched parts of nine seasons in the majors in 1951, 1954-56 and 1960-64.
