Suomi24 is one of Finland's largest online social networking websites.[1][2] Forums are the most prominent part of it but it has also some other functionalities.

History

The history of Suomi24 dates back to 1998, when the website was known as Sircus.com. In 2000 Scandinavia Online Ab became the owner and the site was renamed Suomi24. In 2001 Eniro bought Scandinavia Online as part of the Eniro-group. Since 2007 Suomi24 Oy has been independent company owned by Aller Media Oy, part of Danish company Aller Media.

In 2015, one team of participants in the first Helsinki Challenge analysed big data from Suomi24 as their entry for the scientific competition.[3][4]
