Asrani made his debut for the Under-16s team during the 1994-95 Vijay Merchant Trophy, playing three games for the team before moving up to the Under-19s for the following three seasons.

Having played in both the 50-over and three-day game for the Under-19s, Asrani made, during the 1998-99 season, a single List A, and a single first-class appearance for the team.
