Alex Suber (born December 1, 1986) is a former professional Canadian football player. He played defensive back in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Middle Tennessee State University. He signed a one-day contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in January 2016 in order to retire as a Blue Bomber.

Career

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

On June 1, 2010, Suber signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League as a free agent.[1] Suber has logged 65 career CFL regular season games and a staggering 254 tackles (almost six per game). Was a key player in the 2011 post-season run to the Grey Cup. Has had no fewer than 60 tackles in any of his four years in the league and six fumble recoveries. Has a remarkable penchant for tackling in the backfield with 15 career tackles for a loss.[2]

Toronto Argonauts

On September 2, 2014, Suber was traded to the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for defensive lineman Thaddeus Gibson.

On June 14, 2015, Suber was released by the Argonauts.
