Lord of Theizé (April 14, 1999 - August 29, 2016) was a Selle Francais show jumping horse who won a silver medal at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games and the European Championships in 2011 with Olivier Guillon. This horse was atypical physically, with a very complicated early career, and was not tipped to become a great champion. Mounted to seven years by Gilles Bertran de Balanda, he long encountered problems with anxiety, fear, balance and gallop. However, he was also very friendly and particularly rapid. Olivier Guillon began riding Lord of Theize and revealed the highest level in 2008 and 2009. Lord Theizé allowed his rider to integrate jumping the France team, and won many international titles until 2013.[1] He was put into semi-retirement in September 2014 and in total retirement in December 2015. He was euthanized because of the aftermath of a stroke 29 August 2016.[2]
