Songs of Jimmie Rodgers is a 1951 country music tribute album, released by Lefty Frizzell, the album is also his debut. During his childhood, Jimmie Rodgers was a huge inspiration to Frizzell, who recorded many of Rodgers songs of during his career.

Content

Frizzell recorded his first album during his first sessions with Columbia Records. The track listing includes many of Rodgers' saddest songs, including some of his blue yodels (#2 and #6), however he did not yodel.

Reception

The album includes many of Rodgers's best songs, and very well performed. The fresh young sound of Frizzell during his early career, when he was extremely popular.
