John Ross Thompson (10 May 1918 – 15 June 2010) was an English cricketer active from 1938 to 1954 who played for Warwickshire, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Cambridge University. He was born in Marlborough, Wiltshire and was educated at Tonbridge School and St John's College, Cambridge. He appeared in 68 first-class matches as a righthanded batsman who occasionally bowled right arm off break. He scored 3,455 runs with a highest score of 191 and held 32 catches. Thompson was capped by Warwickshire in 1947.[1]
