Hugh Richard Bromley-Davenport OBE (18 August 1870 – 23 May 1954) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Cambridge University between 1892 and 1893 and Middlesex between 1896 and 1898. Bromley-Davenport also played four Test matches for England, all of which were against South Africa.
Hugh Bromley-Davenport was educated at Eton and Trinity Hall, Cambridge.[1] He served with the Royal Engineers in the First World War, and was awarded the OBE for his services.
Hugh's Surname
Hugh Bromley-Davenport along with Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, shares the record for the longest surname among Test cricketers.
