Elgiazar Farashyan (Armenian: Եղիազար Ֆարաշյան; Belarusian: Ягіазар (or Егіязар) Фарашян, also known by the mononym Egiazar born 2 November 1988) is a Belarusian singer. Born in Armenia, Farashyan and his family relocated to the Gomel region in eastern Belarus when he was five years old.[1]
Farashyan's musical ambitions were fostered by his mother, a vocal teacher. He studied at the Gomel College of Art.[2] In 2005, he won the Grand Prix at the Land under White Wings and in 2006, he won the Grand Prix at Kind Stork. Farashyan is also a laureate to the Presidential Fund that supports Belarusian youth.
Along with pop group 3+2, Farashyan represented Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010.[3]
He also tried to take part in the Belarusian National Selection for Eurovision 2018 with the song "Run Away", but was not selected for the final 10.
