Established in 1997, Pantai Hospital Penang (formerly known as Hospital Pantai Mutiara) is a 190 bedded specialist hospital strategically located in the bustling satellite town of Bayan Baru, just a 30-minute drive from the city of Georgetown. Its proximity to the Penang International Airport and the Penang Bridge (1st and 2nd link) makes Pantai Hospital Penang a healthcare centre of choice both among medical tourists and locals.

Drawing on Penang's established reputation as a hub for medical tourism, Pantai Hospital Penang offers a comprehensive portfolio of specialist services in Radiotherapy & Oncology, Cardiology, Dentistry, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. It also houses the only Stroke Center in the Northern Region.

The hospital with 49 full-time specialist doctors, 15 sessional and 6 visiting specialist doctors is continuously improving in an effort to provide peerless patient experience. New facilities and services such as the recent additions - Urology, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy, Stroke Centre, Interventional Radiology, Radiotherapy and Brachytherapy (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) – are part of the hospital's commitment to healthcare excellence.
