The first edition was staged at the Naas Military Barracks, Naas.[2] It was a featured event of 1880 Men's Tennis tour. In 1881 the tournament was then staged at the County Kildare Club (later Naas Lawn Tennis Club) until it was abolished in 1890.[3]
