Elvis Vieira Araújo (born 9 September 1990) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Cuiabá as a midfielder.

Career

Born in Janiópolis, Brazil. Elvis started his career at Paraná Clube, with a one-year spell at Botafogo.[1] He was quickly signed by Benfica on 12 January 2011, on a three and half year contract.[2]

After six months without competing, he joined União Leiria in Primeira Liga on a year-long loan deal.[3] In a good individual year, Elvis played 27 games, with 2 goals, however, Leiria was in financial crisis, so he terminated his loan contract for unpaid salaries on 28 April 2012.[4]

For the following seasons, he was assigned to the reactivated Benfica B, making his debut in a 6–0 win against of Belenenses.[5] He did not have enough playing time, so he opt-out of his remaining contract and signed with Tombense in the Série D.[1]

At Tombense, Elvis was first loaned to América Mineiro, but returned the following year to help the small town team win their first ever promotion to the Série C.[1] His performances led to a move to Botafogo in 2015, winning the Taça Guanaraba at Fogão.[6][1]

Botafogo opted not to renew his contract and he signed with Criciúma on 6 January 2016.[7] He finished 2016 at Figueirense,[8] and continued his journeyman career at Red Bull Brasil on a four-month contract.[9] In April 2017, he signed with Clube de Regatas Brasil, playing in Campeonato Brasileiro Série B.[10]
