1972 NCAA University Division football rankings

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Kges1901 (talk | contribs) at 17:00, 4 April 2020 (UPI Coaches' poll: not necessary). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Two human polls comprised the 1972 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) football rankings. Unlike most sports, college football's governing body, the NCAA, does not bestow a national championship, instead that title is bestowed by one or more different polling agencies. There are two main weekly polls that begin in the preseason—the AP Poll and the Coaches' Poll.
