Phú Vang is a rural district of Thua Thien – Hue province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 178,968.[1] The district covers an area of 280 km². The district capital lies at Phú Đa.[1]

The district contains two townships (Phú Đa and Thuận An) and 18 communes:
