The complex served as the home of the independent Yuma Scorpions of the North American Baseball League, who played primarily at Desert Sun Stadium, and for the NABL's developmental Arizona Winter League and Arizona Summer League. Desert Sun was once the main ballpark for both the NABL regular season and San Diego Padres spring training games.
It was named for McDonald's founder Ray Kroc.
