Yajurvedi

Yajurvedi is an Indian surname used by Yajurvedi Brahmins, meaning versed in Yajurveda.[1] It is one of the two major sub-sects among Deshastha Brahmins.[2] Similarly there are Rigvedi (one who knows Rigveda).

Geographical distribution

As of 2014, 97.15% of all known bearers of the surname Yajurvedi were residents of India. The frequency of the surname was higher than national average in the following states:[3]
