Dukem (var. Dukam, Dukham; Oromo Duukam) is a town in central Oromia. It is named after the Dukem River.[1] Located in the Oromia Special Zone Surrounding Finfinne of the Oromia Region, 37 kilometers southeast of Addis Ababa[1] and 10 kilometers northwest of Bishoftu,[2] this town has a latitude and longitude of 08°48′N 38°54′E / 8.800°N 38.900°E / 8.800; 38.900 and an elevation of 1950 meters above sea level. It is the administrative center of Akaki woreda.

Dukem is situated along the Adama - Dire Dawa highway and is a station on the Ethio-Djibouti Railway.[1] It is also the location of an industrial park covering 40 hectares owned and developed by East African Group (Ethiopia), Ltd.[3]

Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, Dukem has an estimated total population of 8,704 of whom 4,095 are men and 4,609 are women.[4]
