Julien Alvard (1916–1974) was a French art critic. He is especially known[citation needed] for having launched a modern art movement that he baptized "Nuagisme" as based on the paintings of René Laubies, Frédéric Benrath, René Duvillier, Fernando Lerin and Nasser Assar.
