Alhandra is a former civil parish in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Alhandra, São João dos Montes e Calhandriz.[1] Famous Portuguese explorer Afonso de Albuquerque was born here.
