DWXT-FM, branded as One FM 96.1, is an FM radio station owned and operated by Radio Corporation of the Philippines. The station's studios and transmitter are located at RCP Broadcasting Center, Mcarthur Highway, Brgy. San Nicolas, Tarlac City. It operates daily from 4:00 AM to 12:00 MN.[1][2][3][4]

Background

Sometime in 1980, DWXT-FM made its test broadcast. The station started its full blast operations on January 1, 1981, under the management of Filipinas Broadcasting Network, with Mr. Jesus Viduya as the pioneer station manager from 1981-1982; and from 1982 to 1986, Mr. Ben Arzaga. During that time, DWXT-FM had its freeform musical format, but with no regular disk jockeys on board. Trainees then were the ones who handled the station's programming, with choice of musical playlist featured in the station varies depending on whoever he or she is onboard. In 1983, Filipinas Broadcasting Network decided to sell the station to Radio Corporation of the Philippines. In 1986, under the leadership of Mr. Bobby Barreiro, the sales of DWXT FM significantly improved, with the supervision of Mr. Eugene Ramos, who was then the operations manager of RCP. Mr. Bobbit Sanches was installed as the new program supervisor in the same year, which did the station's significant makeover, as well as to improve the station's music format. Upon the turn of the new millenium, when the station was under the helm of Mr. Francis L. Cardona that made it as the No. 1 radio station in Tarlac for 10 straight years, despite operating with a modest 2.5 kW transmitter power. The new name of DWXT ONE FM came from Mr. Cardona's never ending and superb ideas.
