Jeremiah's Vanishing New York
Jeremiah's Vanishing New York is a blog reviewing historically significant locations in New York City that are likely to not exist in the near future.
Blogger Jeremiah Moss publishes the reviews.[1]
The website was established in 2008[1] after a failed attempt to save Café Edison, a Times Square coffeehouse well liked by locals as community meeting place. In response, Moss began a "Save NYC" campaign to increase awareness of the harms of gentrification.[2]
One reviewer described the blog as describing "old-school businesses in danger of being snuffed out by changing times".[3]
In 2017 Moss released a comprehensive book entitled Vanishing New York: How a Great City Lost Its Soul.[4]
