The rufous-vented tapaculo (Scytalopus femoralis) is a species of bird in the family Rhinocryptidae. It is found in Peru. Note that the long-tailed tapaculo, (S. micropterus) is now considered a separate species. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
