The 2006 Troy Trojans football team represented Troy University in the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They played their home games at Movie Gallery Stadium in Troy, Alabama and competed in the Sun Belt Conference. This was the Trojans first Sun Belt championship since joining the conference only two years prior in 2004. The team finished the regular season with an 8–5 overall record, going 6–1 in conference play. They were invited to the New Orleans Bowl, where they played Conference USA's Rice, routing the Owls by a score of 41–17.
