Mark M. Beckwith was the tenth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark.

Biography

Beckwith was ordained priest in 1980. He served as associate rector at St Peter's Church in Morristown, New Jersey from 1982 till 1985, and then became rector of Christ Church in Hackensack, New Jersey from 1985 till 1993. Prior to his election as bishop he served as rector of All Saints Church in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was consecrated on January 27, 2007 by Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori.

The diocese held a special convention to elect his successor on May 19, 2018. Carlye J. Hughes, the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, Texas, was elected on the first ballot. Beckwith's last day as Bishop was September 22, 2018, when Hughes was consecrated.
