Mary Neely is an American actress and director known from the 2020 remake of Valley Girl. In 2017 Neely directed Pink Trailer, a short comedy about cabin fever and boredom.[3]
Coronavirus Lockdown Project
In 2020, during the lockdown of the coronavirus pandemic, Neely, isolated at home, decided to record herself, on an iPhone, reenacting love song duets from classic musicals; Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Grease and Hamilton, among others. Doing so involved her lip-syncing both male and female parts on-camera, as well as wearing a variety of wigs and costumes. Her efforts resulted in media attention, performance offers, and widespread praise, including a compliment from Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of Hamilton.[1][4]
