Tom Bennett, raised in Glasgow, is best known for his online blog The Behaviour Guru of which spawned his first book, The Behaviour Guru: Behaviour Management Solutions for Teachers.[1] In 2015, he was appointed the U.K. government's behavior tsar.[2]

Bennett is also a former nightclub manager on the Soho social scene which he did for eight years, which he entered into upon moving to London in his early adulthood. Following this, he trained as a teacher of both Religious Studies and Philosophy, which has come to form the basis of his writing after he became an online "Agony Uncle" for The Times Educational Supplement, which led to his first published work in 2010. Later that year, he was made School Teacher Fellow of Corpus Christi, the University of Cambridge.[3] He has also made appearances on BBC Breakfast since 2010, discussing both his writing and work as a teacher.
