Pseudocyonopsis is a member of the extinct family Amphicyonidae, a terrestrial carnivore belonging to the order Caniformia.[1]

Pseudocyonopsis was named by Kuss in 1965 and was assigned to Amphicyonidae by Carroll (1988).[2]
