Earthbound is the debut solo album of British singer Sophie Barker. It was originally released in the UK on 2 May 2005, and on 30 May 2006 in the United States. Barker is best known for her work with the British downtempo group Zero 7, which she left after the release of the group's second album, When It Falls. Earthbound was dedicated by Barker to Jolyon Gold.[1]

Reviews

As of August 2011, it has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on the US iTunes Store.[2] It received mostly positive critical reviews. Acousticmusic.com praised the album for its uncomplicated production and Barker's "lush and languid" vocals.[3] PlugInMusic praised Barker for her smooth voice and praised the tracks Wintertime, On My Way Home, Start Me and Stumble.[4]

Track listing

"Stop Me," "Wintertime," and "Start Me" were produced and recorded by Robin Guthrie of The Cocteau Twins, while "Dreamlife," "On My Way Home," and "Stumble" were acoustic songs performed by Barker herself and recorded by Spike Nevins. Meanwhile, "Secret" was recorded by Diz Toba, and "Angel" was produced by Lem Lattimer.[1]
