William Roosevelt Gaines (born March 10, 1946) is a retired professional basketball guard who played only one game in the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a member of the Houston Mavericks during the 1968–69 season. He played in college for East Texas State University (now known as Texas A&M Commerce) and was drafted by the San Diego Rockets as the first pick in the fifteenth round of the 1968 NBA draft, but never played in the National Basketball Association.
