The Ruf RK Coupe/Spyder is a mid-engined sports car made by Ruf Automobile and Studiotorino introduced in 2006.[1]
Description
A collaboration between German automaker Ruf and Italian coachbuilder Studiotorino, the Ruf RK Coupe/Spyder is based on the facelifted Porsche 987. Available in both Coupe and Spyder formats, the RK takes design clues from the Ferrari Dino 246 GT, the Porsche 550, and the Porsche 904.
The RK Coupe and Spyder are both extremely limited production models; only a total of 49 of each was produced. The RK Coupe and Spyder was succeeded by the 3800S, which is based on second-generation Cayman.
Performance
Power comes from a 3.8 litre supercharged flat-6 engine (the RK in Ruf Coupe/Spyder stands for Ruf Kompressor), with the RK Coupe producing 324 kW (434 bhp) at 7,000 rpm and 470 N⋅m (347 lb⋅ft) of torque at 5,500 rpm. The RK Coupe, the better performer of the two (as the RK Spyder is a convertible), has a top speed of 314 km/h (190 mph), and can accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.8 seconds.
