M. Saud Anwar is a Pakistani-American doctor and politician, who is currently serving as a State Senator in the Connecticut State Senate, representing the 3rd District, a seat he has held since 2019.[1] He is also serving as the Deputy President Pro-Tempore of the Senate. A member of the Democratic Party, Anwar previously served as the mayor of South Windsor, Connecticut.[2] A pulmonary physician by profession,[3] he is a graduate of Yale University and Aga Khan University. He has two children.
