William Wake (governor)

William Wake was the governor of Bombay during the British Raj from 26 November 1742 to 17 November 1750. Father of Margaret Wake Tryon, wife of William Tryon (8 June 1729 – 27 January 1788), who was the governor of the Province of North Carolina (1765–1771) and the Province of New York (1771–1780).
