"Out of the Sinking" is a song by British singer-songwriter Paul Weller that was released in 1994 as the first single from his third solo album Stanley Road. It was written by Weller and produced by Brendan Lynch and Weller. The B-side is a cover of the Beatles' "Sexy Sadie".[1]

It originally reached no. 20 on the UK charts upon release in November 1994. It went even higher upon re-release in March 1996, reaching no. 16[2]

According to Weller, he wrote "Out of the Sinking" as a "great English Mod love song" and took inspiration from the Small Faces.[3]
