The 1977 Chico State Wildcats football team represented Chico State University[note 1] during the 1977 NCAA Division II football season. Chico State competed in the Far Western Conference in 1977.

The 1977 Wildcats were led by fourth-year head coach Dick Trimmer. They played home games at University Stadium in Chico, California. Chico State finished the season with a record of six wins, two losses and one tie (6–2–1, 3–1–1 FWC). The Wildcats outscored their opponents 159–137 for the season.
