Talukdar Mohammad Towhid Jung Murad is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and former Member of Parliament from Dhaka-19. On the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina M.P. Murad Jung signed the constitution of Bangladesh in 2010 which was the beginning of his success. He was a Member of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Bangladesh).

Career

Murad Jung was elected to Parliament in 2008 from Dhaka-19 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate acquiring 2,88,412 votes which was the highest number of votes acquired by any candidate in the history of Bangladesh Parliament.

During his period, a 200 crore Taka bill was passed to upgrade Savar and Ashulia's roads, bridges, highways, hospitals, government schools, madrasas and so on. He also worked hard to combat terrorism, drug dealings, pollution and discrimination in his area. He is the one who introduced unemployment benefits to the unemployed and promoted activities like giving away computers, sewing machines etc. to help the economy grow.

However, he had faced criticism following the collapse of Rana Plaza .[1][2]
