James Danly serves on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in the U.S. He was nominated by President Donald Trump in 2019.[1][2] He formerly served as the agency's general counsel.[3] He was confirmed March 12, 2020.[4]

Two spots were open when Danly was nominated. A nominee to fill a Democrat seat vacated after Cheryl LaFleur resigned was not made by Trump.[1] His term ends June 30, 2023.[5]

Danly earned a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Yale University. [5]
